We’re going to set things off with a little write up on Badoo.

Now I’m not going to lie to you, but Badoo is my least favorite application to use. Is it terrible? No, that’s not what I’m saying at all. There are much better alternatives.

Badoo is similar to a lot of other dating apps in regards to how it works. You add photos, a bio, then you chat people up. You can also buy “super-powers”, which is essentially just the premium version of Badoo, but you don’t really need those.

One advantage it has over an app like Tinder is that you don’t need to match with people to talk to them. Just click on their profile and send them a message, simple as that.

Another good feature I like is that people can rate the photos you use. This also comes in handy for using other dating apps as well. But…

Reason number one on why I’m not a huge fan:

The quality on here is pretty lackluster if I do say so myself.

You won’t find many tourists on Badoo that’s for certain. As far as Dominicanas, don’t expect anything better than a “6” on a good day. Most of the girls on here are just barrio Dominican girls.

Reason number two:

It’s practically useless unless you’re on a small beach town, as most of the attractive women are just using other apps.

If you do find yourself in one of these small beach towns, then give it a shot. But you’re better suited just going to the beach instead, gaming all the girls in real life. In my very humble opinion anyway.

As for the final verdict, Badoo gets a 4/10 in my eyes, coming in just below average.

I’m sure everyone reading this is familiar with Tinder. Tinder is the most popular dating app in the entire world, and that isn’t an exception in the Dominican Republic.

Maybe you’re reading this and have never used a dating app before. That’s okay, no one is judging. That also means you probably don’t know how Tinder works.

All you need to know is to either swipe left or swipe right. Once you get the hang of it you will start getting matches and be able to start messaging girls. Muy facil.

In the Dominican Republic, I only like to use Tinder in tourist-heavy areas or Santo Domingo. In small cities with low speaking English populations, there are much better alternatives.

Tinder doesn’t work well in Santiago or San Fransisco.

You’ll mainly find more affluent, gold-digging, gringo hunter types on Tinder. Now in my opinion, this isn’t a bad thing at all, especially if you can’t really speak Spanish.

You will have tons of competition, however.

Thirsty gringos LOVE using Tinder and will be flooding girls messages all day. So, if you do decide to go with Tinder, make sure that you stand out somehow.

As long as your game is decent, you shouldn’t have too difficult a time in a place like Santo Domingo or Punta Cana. These are the two places where I would focus my Tinder attention anyway.

In small beach towns, the only women that will be using Tinder are prostitutes and backpacking tourists. Language/cultural barriers have a lot to do with this I would assume.

My overall verdict on Tinder would be a 7/10.

A solid option in places like Santo Domingo and Punta Cana as stated before, but pretty useless anywhere else.

Not Free?

Now, these aren’t the only dating apps and sites to use in the Dominican Republic. In fact, you can also use paid dating sites in the country too.

While this may seem weird, it’s actually incredibly effective in the DR.

Here’s why – along with my favorite site in the country:

Dominican Cupid

Dominican Cupid is easily the best dating app to use in the Dominican Republic, and I know countless people who can vouch for that. As far as the Dominican Republic goes, Dominican Cupid is the most popular Dominican dating site.

Although it’s technically not free.

The site pretty much works exactly the same as Badoo. You create a profile, add a bio, a photo and send/receive messages to girls. The downside is you can’t talk to girls unless you get the gold membership. It’s not really that expensive though and is well worth it.

It’s really easy to pipeline with Dominican Cupid more-so then Tinder. Just make your account a month before you leave and start messaging up girls. This gives you a chance to practice your Spanish and have a whole bunch of dates lined up before you even touch down.

The quality, of course, will be top notch, as one could expect. Literally everyone and their mom is using Dominican Cupid. It definitely has some gringo hunters for sure, but you’ll notice of a lot more regular, more lower-class girls on here as well.

There isn’t going to be as much competition on here like there will be on other apps. A lot of gringos probably aren’t even aware that Dominican Cupid even exists. That or they just refuse to pay the fee because “principles” and stuff like that. But that’s their loss.

If I were you, I’d just try and go after the alternatives and find the girls that just want sex and not money. That shouldn’t be too hard on Dominican Cupid. On Tinder, it’ll for sure be way more of a challenge.

Another important thing about Dominican Cupid, is you need to make sure your Spanish is at least conversational. A lot of the girls that use this app don’t really come from affluent backgrounds, so they’re more or less lacking a bit in the education department.

This holds especially true in places like Santiago, or some small beach city that sits on the coast. If you want to get laid in these places, you NEED to know Spanish. If you don’t then good luck, because these girls probably won’t even give you the time of day.

You should see this as an opportunity, as doing an “intercambio” with a Dominicana might be the easiest opener there is. On top of that, you get to learn Spanish as well, which is used for more than just gaming women.
